Project Discussion 5 Responses to Lecture Capturing Upgrade (OpenCast)

  1. This project is about 75% complete. We have received and deployed most of the infrastructure. All videos will need re-processing, which will be started within the next week. We should be up and running after the September holidays.

  2. This project is now about 50% finished. We had to adjust the final date to July recess for 2017. We are too short-staffed to have completed this on time, hence the adjustment. This project however is now back on track for completion July 2017.

  3. Currently, the before-mentioned projects are in waiting, so we have been able to start on the development. Once the developer’s duties on the other project is finalised, we will be able to give full attention to this project. But, it has started.

  4. We have received all previously discussed hardware from Infrastructure/Systems. Our development environment has therefor been catered for i.t.o. hardware. Currently we are falling behind due to other projects that are tying up our main developer. Due to the nature of this upgrade (the fact that it is a major release, and it is on a totally revised architecture), we cannot proceed without him. As far as my knowledge goes, the projects in question is Implementation of Symplicity Career Services at the Career Centre as well as the ORCID project. He has assured me that this will be done soon, then development for Opencast will commence.
