Phasing out Dot-matrix printers

Versoek soos gerig vanaf Greg Robberts:
Ons gebruik huidig steeds dotmatriks drukkers vir ons kassiere vir die druk van kwitansies vanuit VSS-REC. Ons moes reeds met ‘n vorige opgradering van ons rekenaars, moeilik bekombare spesiale kaarte vir ons kassiere se rekenaars aankoop om steeds die dotmatriks drukkers te kan gebruik siende dat dit nog werk met parallel kabels en nie soos die nuwe tegnologie USB kabels nie. Dit veroorsaak tekorte in toerusting vir byvoorbeeld ope dae want ons kan nie enige rekenaar gebruik om op te stel vir addisionele kassiers rekenaars nie, want hulle het nie die moeilik bekombare spesiale kaarte nie.
Ek vermoed ons sal ook in VSS moet begin ontwikkel vir nuwe funksionaliteit wat kwitansies betref. Ek dink ons is nou so ver agter dat hier iets heel nuuts moet kom, amper ‘n kwitansie en drukkers soortgelyks aan dit wat tans by IVD se SS kafeteria, en ook by winkels soos Spar, Pick & Pay, klerewinkels ens gebruik word.
Die versoek vir uitfasseer van die dot-matriks drukkers word ondersteun deur al die ander kampus finansiele direkteur – Vaal Herman Steyn, Mafikeng – Etienne Mostert.

  4. Scope and specifications were cleared. Discussions with Eben completed regarding the proposed printers to be used. Busy with proposed receipt template for approval as well as document for the proposed printers for approval from business owners

    Detail workshop being scheduled by SAS office to determine the scope and discuss high level requirements such as type of printers & costs; phasing out pre-printed stationary, system changes, receipt requirements, audit requirements, workstation status and prerequisites & costs, timelines
    Resources involved: 2 campus financial directors and representatives, BSS, IT architecture, SAS, campus it for campus support, Opencollab for system changes, internal audit
    Project co-ordinator: Dassie J van Vuuren and her VSS supportteam as part of system enhancements
    Hardware costs will be for he campus account
