Support for Digital Humanities Project

Project Description

The request was submitted by Johan Tempelhof (via Boeta Pretorius)

“We need 20 TB storage space in order for us to scan and digitize the Water History of South Africa for the twentieth century and earlier.
We also need the following software to be available for use: Atom for data access (https://www.accesstomemory.org/en/), and ABBYY (https://www.abbyy.com/) ;for digitisation of  documents.

Furthermore we also need one IT professional to work with us one day a week, in order to support us in this regard.

Data must be accessible to a broad audience, with access control implemented. Charges may be levied for data access depending on the development of a sustainability model.”
